Recently a very good friend contacted me while in a calm yet emotional state of mind. We go back about 5 yrs and entered into the relationship as coaches for our sons football team. In this relationship I have grown very close to both his sons and the eldest son once chided " Coach Slo if you gave the word I would run through a brick wall for you". That kind of sentiment lends to a players trust of the coach and is the kind of alliance every coach desires to have with all his players. Those kinds of relationships are forged through time, energy and assurances that a coach has the team and the players best interest at heart. ..

I must admit up front, I am a junkie for violence. There were certain television series or movies that solicited my attention simply because I knew someone would get shot, stabbed, run over by a vehicle of some sort, hung, burned or simply expire in some form or fashion that was not associated with father time. HBO series “SOPRANOS” or “THE WIRE” and Hollywood blockbusters like “FACE/OFF” and “HEAT” with two of my favorite actors Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro commanded my attention based on the brutality alone. ..

We’re almost a week into the manhunt, pursuit of an LAPD officer gone rogue in southern California. Christopher Dorner murdered the daughter of Randall Quan, Monica Quan and her fiancé’ on the deck of the complex they lived. Randall Quan was a police captain turned lawyer but as a captain represented Dorner during a hearing about police misconduct. ..
