Your brackets are in. Your choices have been made. The first round of March Madness is complete. I hope you’re happy with your decisions. That’s where it all starts; with a decision. Whether you win your office tournament or not will be based on the decisions that you made for each game of each round. It’s that simple. How decisions are made when filling out brackets is the part that I find interesting, and sometimes just plain funny. Some decisions are made with absolutely no rationale at all. March Madness: Criteria for Building a Winning Team

Some say the key to a winning team is outside shooting. Some say it’s a consistent inside game. Some even say that the team with the most dunks wins (see: Phi Slama Jama). All of the above can be true or not true at all. What a winning team formula really boils down to is the right team chemistry. From what I remember from chemistry class, it’s the composition, properties and behaviors of blending different elements. March Madness: A Lesson from Louisville

The four #1 seeded teams in their respective regions for the NCAA tournament are Louisville, Kansas, Indiana and Gonzaga. The overall #1 seed and Vegas favorite to win it all is Louisville. Whether Louisville wins it all or not is still to be determined, but as for now, they have earned a #1 ranking. They obviously worked hard and played well to earn the number one spot. They finished the regular season with a 26-5 record and have a diverse roster of talented players and coaches that got them there. ..

March Madness officially begins today, Tuesday March 19th. There are many theories floating around about how to choose winners. A characteristic that I've learned to look for in a winning team is leadership. Leadership often comes with experience. We often hear coaches use the phrases “Senior Leadership” or “Veteran Leadership” in sports. There is a reason these phrases exist. Experience matters. Talent is always required but it can not replace experience. Experience is our best teacher in life and those who have it tend to better understand what to do and what not to do. They understand what to expect and what not to expect. Teams that have a wealth of experience tend to have more stable and effective leadership. ..
