Saint Valentine was a Catholic Priest that served as a priest in Rome during the third century AD. He became famous for marrying couples who were in love but couldn't legally get married because of the laws of the emperor at that time, Emperor Claudius II. Apparently your boy Claud was more focused on building a powerhouse army at the time and felt like marriage would be an obstacle to recruiting new soldiers and a distraction to existing soldiers, so he outlawed weddings.
