We become what we believe. This has been my experience in life. I have not necessarily led an easy or privileged life growing up, but I now live a life filled with blessing, good fortune and favor. I’m successful today because I believed I could be and would be over 20 years ago.
During your high school and college years, you are a very different person than the person you will become. You have incredible gifts that you are just beginning to discover and little experience to help you understand the best application of those gifts. There is a lot of trial an error during those high school and college years. These are the years where a lot of mistakes will be made and many failed attempts will take place. Embrace the mistakes.
Failed attempts do not make you a failure they make you more experienced. You are all gifted in different areas and that gift will yield you undeniable success when applied to the right career choice in the right way.
There are no real “secrets” to success. It just requires a lot of hard work and discipline. It also requires proper application of your gift. The first step on your success journey is deciding that you’re going to be successful. The second step on your success journey is to believe you will be successful.
You cannot let a few mistakes, bad choices or failed attempts corrupt or redirect your belief system. Because the belief system works no matter which direction it’s pointed in. If you believe that you will fail in life or be unsuccessful then you will.
The bridge that connects who you are today with whom you will become tomorrow is belief. I’m a big believer that you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to accomplish. I also believe that your holistic success however, is directly tied to living out your purpose. Your purpose is where your gifting meets your passion.
You can work hard and achieve material success but still not be happy if you are working outside of your gifting and/or your passion.
If you want to achieve holistic success in every area of your life, just identify your gift, align it with you passion, and keep on believing!
"Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success." — Dale Carnegie
